About Us - ONeil Capital Management India | Alternate Investment Fund

About Us

ONeil Capital Management India Private Limited is Investment Manager to ONeil Capital Trust. ONeil Capital Management (OCM) India is an alternate investment fund from the family office established by William J. O’Neil. The ideology on which the principles of this fund are based is on William O’Neil’s proprietary derived research exhibited through the CANSLIM® approach. We take immense pride in the success that has been achieved over the past five decades by application of our data-driven methodology. Though past performance is not the only indicator, our foray into the Fund Management space is based on our conviction and underlying fact based rules build on algorithmic, quantitative factor research that should assist us in repeating our success derived in the past.

We work with technically and fundamentally sound goal-oriented equity investors, including high net worth individuals, family offices, and institutional investors, who seek to earn uncorrelated absolute returns.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY &
EMPIRICAL TECHNIQUES

The objective to derive market-beating alpha is based on our underlying application which is conceptualized on the statistical models run on the market data being analyzed in real-time using advanced technology and empirical techniques. These techniques assist us in analyzing enormous amounts of data and identify the right investment opportunity that fits our objective and strategy.

RULES-BASED,
DEFINED APPROACH

Seeking to maximize returns against minimum volatility, we adhere to a rules-based, defined approach that blends fundamental, quantitative, and technical analysis with profile analysis and market timing. The entire procedure is based on the CANSLIM ideology, which has helped us identify outperforming Leaders and Big Compounding winners consistently over a period of time.

The O’Neil name and the methodology create longevity and staying power that is unmatched by other asset managers and hedge funds.

Surviving, let alone thriving, across economic cycles – including multiple bull and bear market cycles – provides invaluable insight.

This long legacy today informs OCM’s approach to quantitative analysis, helping to identify opportunities and prove what will work.

Our History & Legacy

An investing legend and master stock picker, William O’Neil started his career as a stockbroker in 1958. He developed a strategy and approach which made early use of computers across investment management.

1

His entrepreneurial spirit fueled his ambition to help investors improve their portfolio performance with his unique stock picking process (the O’Neil Methodology), leading to the launch of William O’Neil Securities and William O’Neil India.

3

From his research, O’Neil invented the CAN SLIM® investment discipline. Finding immediate success, he bought a seat on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) at age 30 — the youngest person to ever do so at that time.

2

To further the reach of his investing philosophy, O’Neil launched Investor’s Business Daily (www.investors.com), a national business newspaper designed to distribute the research from his database.

We look to capitalize on the distinct advantages of a proven track record of an enterprise where innovation and technology remain a hallmark of our culture.

Today

Investment Risks
and rewards research

OCM’s objective is to research both investment risks and rewards and to translate them into quantifiable strategies, using a systematic approach to make them simplified, provable, and scalable so that they can provide stable and consistent risk-adjusted returns.

56 years
of history

We bring more than 56 years of history as an accomplished investment manager to deliver growth-oriented equity investment strategies designed to help our clients earn a profit on their portfolio.

data-driven
methodology

We do this by applying a data-driven methodology to complement our distinctive research into the fundamentals, and technicals of stocks we believe have the highest likelihood of outperforming the markets.

investment in people,
process & tools

As part of the global O’Neil enterprise, we leverage a substantial ongoing investment in developing the people, process, tools, and infrastructure to support our innovative research and strategy development.

result-oriented
approach

We use our determined, results-oriented approach to portfolio management to make a difference in the investing success of our clients. As a firm, we are at once quick and agile as we are analytical and thoughtful.

perfection &
simplicity

We seek perfection yet simplicity. And just as we look to prove all strategies, we are, by our nature, optimists in our constant pursuit for winning ideas.

Our entrepreneurial culture encourages constant improvement by being fault-tolerant. This underscores a focus on performance, that is, an unrelenting commitment to objectively prove that an investment idea will perform under real market conditions. This attitude is sponsored by an ongoing investment in the firm’s advanced technological infrastructure – creating an environment more like a financial research & development laboratory than a traditional investment advisor.
